We went for an evening meal and had a great meal. Very good and friendly service, very nice range of drinks (good cocktails!), tasty starters and then we ordered the (very large, as a treat) CAU FEASTING PLATE (400g cut each of - Lomito - Asado de Chorizo - Tira de Ancho) which was great but too big for x2 people and maybe could have been advised not to go for it, but was very tasty all the same. Would recommend it and go again for sure.

Hi all

Just wanted to say a huge thank you to the staff on duty last Sunday evening. After completing the Velo Birmingham we were a party of four who had just placed our meal orders when my husband was taken ill at the restaurant. The Maitre 'D was excellent and contacted the emergency services and we were able to explain the symptoms. Fortunately for us he did not require hospitalisation and recovery was quite swift due to replenishing his depleted sugar levels. We really appreciate the fact that despite us having to cancel our main orders and having received our starters you waivered our costs because of the circumstances and the uncertainty that my husband may have to be hospitalised it allowed us to concertrate our attention on his wellbeing.

We feel that this gesture of good will was above and beyond what we were expecting and will definately return to have a pleasant meal soon. We would also not hesitate to recommend the Birmingham restaurant to anyone.

Many thanks

 Mena and Nigel

We were very lucky to have been able to book a table at Cau. It was hard to pick a starter but settled on Hummus & Crisp Breads with aubergine caviar, chilli & nuts.Simply amazing and best hummus to date! Then had the best tender, well cooked and delicious rib eye steak(chimmichuri spice highly recommended) accompanied by chunky chips and some delicious onion rings washed down with a great tasting Argentinian beer. My partner had Tapa de Cuadril which was thinly sliced rump which was just as tender as my ribeye and full of flavour and then there was deserts.... Try the Creme Catalana or the Dulce Volcano.. Scrumptious and must be tried...

Good atmosphere and food was really good. But it was expensive and the waiter really couldn’t have cared less! It was a mixed experience. Guys on the door were friendly and helpful.

We travel to Birmingham weekly on a Monday to take our daughter to the CBSO Choir and we have 2 hours to kill so we go out and enjoy a meal. My wife is vegetarian s we select carefully. CAU sounds non-vege but she loved it. Her meal was one of the best she had. My burger was fine, presentation was lacking a little but it was tasty. The food was really good......the beer was good (2/3 pints was annoying)......I want it ti be a success but something is missing.......can't quite say what.....décor is fine but cold.......menu is OK. Fusion food of Argentina.........hope it works.......
