We had lunch at the Cellar Bar while we waited for check-in at the hotel. We found the dining area to be well set out, and nicely decorated. This, however, is where the positives begin to run thin.
The table we sat at was dirty, though it had been cleared, and set up for use. The menu was sticky, as was the table top.
The food, while tasty, was in relatively small portions, and very over-priced. The Caesar salad cost roughly what I had paid a day or so earlier at a different venue, but was half the size, and of a inferior quality.
Service was order at the bar, and served at the table type. The server was pleasant, but not very attentive.
The atmosphere was spoiled as well by the placement of a pool table near the bar, with several young lads, knocking cue balls about, and occasionally chasing each other through the restaurant area. So in the end, we ate quickly and set out to find a quieter place to await check-in.
