We spent a lovely morning exploring this charming house. The proportions are perfect and I felt as though I could live there. The volunteer guides were so helpful and informative. The house has been beautifully restored by the Trust. It's magnificent and the garden very pretty too. We enjoyed lunch in the garden.

Beautiful 17/18th century house well restored with appropriate furnishings. Just like going back in time. Well worth 100 mile drive to see.

This is a gem. The National Trust have done a wonderful job in turning this house into an interesting place to wander around. The volunteer room guides were all very helpful and very knowledgeable. They had a real enthusiasm for the rooms and the contents.
Unlike the large NT houses, there were no roped off areas (if there were you wouldn't be able to get more than a couple of people in each room at any time) and this enables you to view the contents and the collections at close quarters. We entered expecting a quick house tour but ended up spending an hour here. A lovely house, simple but full of interest. Well worth a visit.

This house may not be big but it is very well presented with a delightful 18th Century Wine glass collection, very pretty garden which houses the tea room.

This N.T. property is small compared to the grand stately homes that the N.T. usually buy BUT it is surprisingly good. Large for a town house, its location on the Cathedral Green with its lovely secluded private garden feels warm and lived-in when you enter. Each room has its own charm, four up and four down, you can 'feel' the love it has been shown by previous owners and the N.T. have looked after it and furnished it with some amazing items of furniture and soft furnishings. The Guides are well versed in its history and I'd recommend seeing it after your visit to the Cathedral.
