A fantastic collection where even big kids are encouraged to climbing into the cockpit of many of exhibits. If you have always wanted to sit in the cockpit of a Harrier fighter plane or a Tornado then this collection will make your dream come true. The staff are extremely helpful and knowledgeable (one chap on some errand would pass us by and on each occasion would impart a little nugget of fact or interest and carry on making the whole day a friendly and pleasurable experience). In fact all the staff were engaging and friendly. Where else in this risk adverse world would you be encouraged to climb on the exhibits. Long may this be allowed to continue.

Sitting inside the aircraft cockpit is a great experience, that other museums do not offer. If you are in the area,do drop in because it is worth the effort.

A place where men can be boys and kids can be grown-ups. You can climb into the cockpits, fly the simulators, with ex pilots giving you the expertise and knowledge of the planes in the hanger. Absolutely loved it.

I visited the place today with my 8 year old son. He’s already an aviation enthusiast and I was less keen, that was until today...

The collection is amazing with the opportunity to climb in cockpits and get hands-on with switches, dials, buttons. Perfect for all ages and interests.

It was made even better by the most helpful and informative guide/volunteer - Kieran - thank you again. We both learnt so much about the collection, local history and fascinating facts. My son was buzzing when he got home, still talking about what he had learnt.

We enjoyed it so much that I decided to buy a family season pass.
We will be back soon.

Highly recommend and very worthy of 5 stars. Well done!

This gem of an aviation museum is a must visit for all aviation enthusiasts. I visited the place for the first time a little while back and found it most informative and interesting. The connection to the Empire Test Pilot School was of particular interest to me and it's collection of cockpits and aircraft which the museum allow the public open access to is second to none. It has a surprising varied collection of aircraft types and cockpits for the size of the place and it is a museum I will certainly try to re-visit when I am Salisbury way again.
It has a fantastic variation of aviation related exhibits and the write up descriptions alongside these are detailed and very well put together. I hope they continue to expand their collection in the future.
