We visited last weekend as a family trip.
The good bits
The room itself was lovely, really spacious, fantastically comfortable beds and nice bedding. The bathrooms were well equipped with nice toiletries. The bottles of water and decent coffee were nice touches.
Really good location- literally near everything, and easy to find.
Not bad price for the standard and location.
The not so good bits
Parking was really dear- we didn't pay to use it as we parked elsewhere, but I did note the price and think it is dear for what it was.
The staff could have been friendlier and more helpful..... upon arrival it was nine at night, dark and minus 5 temperatures. I arrived with my nine year old son whilst my husband went to find us some food and drink- I checked in fine, but I found the staff on reception almost cold- not personable at all. She then walked me, my son, and my heavy suitcase to the top of the stairs and pointed across the car park and stated its the building over there- its green but you will struggle to see it in the dark and then left us to it. I genuinely would have expected at least an offer of help to get down the external steps before I then walked across the freezing car park in the pitch black.
I probably wouldn't have mentioned it.... however they clearly have a bit...We visited last weekend as a family trip.

I probably wouldn't have mentioned it.... however they clearly have a bit of issue with the automatic doors at the same steps as twice they closed on us when we were halfway through, and as I was checking out I mentioned it to the man on reception as we both saw it do it to my small child and husband and in all honesty he couldn't have been less bothered. I just found it strange for such a nice hotel that the staff seem to let it down a bit and feel less special...
Another negative was the bar area- we couldn't get anywhere to sit to have a drink as they were all being used for the afternoon tea and then all reserved for people eating in the bar- again it just makes it less comfortable and less special when you can't sit in the hotel you have paid to stay in....
There were also a couple of other small issues such as the Nespresso machine in the room to working at all.
The room was cleaned but yet you could hardly tell- the beds weren't made it was just a case of bins emptied and new towels left.
I would stay here again, but only if I managed to get it at a reasonable price again I wouldn't pay the prices I regularly see as the lack of personable staff really did spoil it a bit for me....More
