Very impressed - we were walking the Cotswold Way nearby and a friend booked us in for lunch. Very scenic spot at the very top of the road going through Stanton, so don't despair if you think you've missed it. Panoramic views over the village below and the Vale of Evesham beyond.

They provided plastic overshoes for our muddy boots and had no problem with bringing in our dog. We were provided with comfortable seating and quickly had our drinks orders taken. The food came in man sizes, so no-one left hungry. Some went for main meals such as fish and chips or gammon (around £12-14); others went for a filled baguette with chips on the side (or sweet potato chips which were excellent), coming to £10 a head. The service was very friendly and all went away very happy with their experience.

Definitely worth a visit again - might bring the family next time. Also worth a summer evening visit as the views from the garden tables are excellent.

An excellent lunch - a family celebration that met all expectations. Lovely food with attentive service. The gardens looked beautiful with swathes of daffodils. The interior decor up to date and very stylish. So why do the toilets remain so primitive?

A beautiful pub adorned with hanging baskets, an open fire, stunning far reaching views and a very cosy interior. The food served was excellent, but limited choice for vegetarians. The service, you might have to wait a little, but well worth the wait, especially when busy. The only drawback was that we were sat oppose the door which led to the toilets. Not ideal, because not everyone had the decency to close the door behind them. Regardless, will definitely be back.

We had tried to go here before but hadn't realised the funny opening/serving hours but we decided to try again today and we are so happy we did!! We were told that the main restaurant was booked up, which we expected, but we were lucky enough to bag a table in the bar area and ordered our food fairly quickly. We had salmon fishcakes for starter...beautiful, roast beef and chicken for dinner for mains...amazing and the dessert of bannofie pie, don't get me started, it was absolutely gorgeous!!! There were only 3 staff on duty but they managed it well and were totally rushed off their feet and worked so hard, so big credit to them! It's not a big pub and the bat area is small but it is what it is, a lovely country inn with character and good food! Prices are a bit steep in comparison with other places but when the food is as good as what we had, we certainly didn't mind paying it! Just check the opening/food hours before you go to avoid disappointment! We will definitely be back!

We had planned to stop for lunch here half way through our stroll all the Cotswold way.
We booked ahead and were very pleased we had as it was super busy.
Unfortunately, they seemed under staffed and we had to wait for 10 minutes at the bar in order to explain we were here for our pre-booked table. We had to wait a further 15 minutes to order our food and then an unfortunate 45 minutes for our food to arrive.
The surroundings were lovely and the staff efficient and pleasant. However we received no apology nor explanation for the delay, which was a shame.
The veggie burger was excellent- portobello mushroom and halloumi stack would be more accurate- with homemade dips and homemade mayonnaise for homemade chips. The beef burger was slightly odd- it had a smell so pungent that could be smelt strongly at our table, but we could also smell other people eating theirs around us.
We were later informed that the beef burger is handmade- with blue cheese crumbled into it. Whilst this explained the aroma, it seemed odd that this was in no way advertised or explained; the barman said people often queried the smell.
Overall I would recommend this pub, if you are in a relaxed mood and don't mind waiting for your food.
On this occasion we left feeling slightly disgruntled, but there was no denying the food was good (though overpriced) and the beer excellent.
