The Lygon is a charming hotel in Broadway - one of the Cotswolds best villages. Beautiful surroundings; wonderful swimming pool & spa; delicious food; excellent service. The perfect retreat and indulgence.

Lovely hotel, had to move to an annexe room as couldn’t give us a courtyard one for 2 nights.

Nice room, ate in restaurant the first night, but concept of ‘bar and grill’ for second night was not on as same menu and soulless.

Anyhow woken up before 6am on the first night by loud rumbling noises. Had windows open to get fresh air but that was the end of the sleeping. The noise is from the enormous kitchen fans which are on top of the building and some of the rooms are very close to them so it must be unbearable. A lot of comments on reviews. Closing the windows made no difference - it’s a rumbling noise which is very annoying.

Same happened on second night and wanted an early night but they stayed on late so no early night.

Rang reception and they acknowledged the problem but nothing can be done. Got some recompense but that wasn’t what we stayed for. They need to redesign the installation and better insulate the rooms from the noise.

If we do go back it’ll be a courtyard room or nothing.

All told a nice hotel but ……

Room tip: Avoid annexe rooms

Had a cracking night with friends with some cracking ale and lovely chilled environment. Will defiantly be a regular visitor.

Great selection of drinks and spirits as well as great food and bar snacks.

Check in was friendly, efficient, with bellmen ready to cart bags up to our room. Rooms were all unique with fresh bedding, renovated bathrooms and cozy furnishings. We needed assistance with the heated towel bar and engineer staff was there in an instant. We had beautiful windows overlooking the fab courtyard. Quiet, quiet. Hotel is located in the center of town and we never heard noise. There are so many interesting spaces - rooms, a courtyard, a buzzy-bar. Breakfast buffet is expansive and a large menu of hot dishes, all included. Wonderful coffee and tea selection.

Room tip: Each room is unique so difficult to know, but best to upgrade to guarantee loads of space.

The food, amenities , staff, service, cleanliness of hotel, were all excellent. This is our second visit to the lygon Arms and if anything it was even better than the first which was during Covid..The actual building is full of charm mixing the old with the new. Just book it you will not be disappointed, we will return.
