Booked a double room at a fairly hefty price, on arrival we were told "we've put you in a 'compact double room', which is not what we purchased, on arrival of the room we entered and it was ridiculously small, NO heating and dirty. We had a visit to our room off the woman in reception who asked for payment, she came into the room and said " have you got a heater in here it's freezing" she then went to get an electrical heater which is an embarrassment at the price they charge. we went up to the reception to complain and as we got there it was almost as if they were expecting us, we said we will not be staying in that room to which they replied "we'll swap you back with the other room" meaning they had purposely put us in a worse room I'm guessing as we were young and tried it on, on arrival of the second room it wasn't much better but was nice and warm, only we were above the reception room which the strobe lighting and blasting music till the early hours(single glazed windows), and to top it all off as we left the room to go check out we couldn't open the room door as the latch strike was loose ! Had to use a credit card to push the latch across (what happened if there was a fire) we mentioned this at reception and not once were we offered anything but simply a "sorry". Don't buy into the hype of the pictures

Visiting the Marine for Sunday Lunch on the 10/12/17 and as usual is difficult to fault. If you like big portions you won't be let down. Always a fantastic choice of meats at the carvery, no skimping on portions, loads of veg and if you have room a great choice of family favourite desserts. Service was very good and Nerys as ever a great host taking time to see things are all right for guests.

The Marine Hotel is a big, rambling place right on an atmospheric seafront. Quite expensive, but our room was a good size, with a dramatic view facing out to sea. Free off-street car parking is available around the back or in a yard just along the street behind the hotel. Good breakfasts, although a bit of a random mixture of self-help and waiter service. Clearly, from the clientele we saw, they get the odd tour group. By the way, there is a lift, although it’s not very visible from within reception – don’t do what we did and lug all your gear up stairs before discovering it! (Reception might like to make a note to mention it to guests on check-in). This was a good stay, and we'd do it again if we're ever back in Aberystwyth.

I recently stayed at this hotel for one night for a two day conference. I has a room on the main building on 1st floor. The corridor to my room had a musty smell which wasn't the best. The room Itself was small, quite dated but had the usual things you expect. The bathroom was in need of being refurbished and some silicone wouldn't go amiss. Having said that room was clean and made up ready with lots of fresh towels.

The food in the hotel was good. Breakfast was plentiful and as expected. We had lunch buffets for the two days which was a little 80s, however tasty and fresh.

Location on the Seafront is perfect, even more so if you get a room with a view. Free parking to the rear of the hotel to.

Overall a pleasant stay, not luxury but lots of character..

I had a deluxe room which was overlooking the sea. It was raining and I enjoyed watching the dramatic scene of the sea going wild and the rain hammering the window from the very comfortable bed.
There was a jaccuzzi changing mood lights but you can only use the shower function if you want.
There was everything you would need in the room; to make yourself a drink, iron/hang your clothes and also dry your hair.
It was really quiet and I would go back.
