Review of The Glengower

The Glengower
Ranked #24 of 161 Restaurants in Aberystwyth
Certificate of Excellence
Description: The Glengower is a hearty traditional pub that sits right on Aberystwyth prom near to the foot of Consitution Hill overlooking the stunning Cardigan Bay. The pub serves a wholesome menu of freshly cooked pub grub seven days a week including a popular roast on Sundays. The bar has a great selection of real ales as well as cask ciders and has won various awards to reflect its great selection and quality of ales. Open fires, rustic wooden furniture, lovely sea views and a friendly team create a warm and homely place to relax and enjoy a drink or bite to eat. The pub is dog friendly too so can be the perfect end to a lovely dog walk on the beach.

A seagull pooed in my dinner shortly after it was served on their terrace (they have a perch above the tables). No sympathy from the glen! :( I'm hungry and not going to pay their prices twice.

We had lunch here the other day and it was really enjoyable. Hubby had the steak, mushroom and ale pie and I had the posh fish pie. We also had dessert too. Very nice unusual for us, but well worth it.
We always have a pleasant meal here, good quality and some times something a little bit different

A good variety of menu options at a reasonable price. I had the vegetarian curry and my wife the chicken salad. We were both happy with our meals.
The hotel is on the waterfront, with great views. We also stayed at the hotel, which was great. The room had been recently refurbished.
The staff were attentive and efficient. An enjoyable experience.

8 of us ate there today for lunch, and all of us were extremely happy with our food. 3 fish and chips, 2 club sandwich, 2 burgers and a veg lasagne.
Huge portions all cooked to perfection. The chips were extremely tasty. Just like the old fashioned kind.
I would definitely go back and would recommend the Glengower.
