Owner description: After all these years Caernarfon’s immense strength remains undimmed. A brute of a fortress. Caernarfon Castle’s pumped-up appearance is unashamedly muscle-bound and intimidating. Picking a fight with this massive structure would have been a daunting prospect. By throwing his weight around in stone, King Edward I created what is surely one of the most impressive of Wales’s castles. Worthy of World Heritage status no less.

Personally my favorite Welsh castle. You can walk the walls and climb the towers which afford excellent views of Anglesey and Snowdonia. Staff are friendly and helpful. If you are a member of English Heritage you get in free!!!

I recalled the investiture of Prince Charles here, and find it hard to believe 4000 guests fit into this space.

When Queen Elizabeth passes on and Charles becomes King, Like Prince William, as the new Prince of Wales, will be installed here as well.

Worth visiting.

Went about 8 summers ago.

We loved this castle, and we saw many castles on our 4 1/2 months trip away. It was large, interesting, and right beside our boutique hotel. What was there not to like? Go and see it, it is a must!

We were unsure about visiting the Castle as it looked to be just a ruin, how wrong we were. This is a very interesting Castle with a video of its history to star with, then climbing the many steps to the towers and ramparts which gives you a feel what life for the soldiers must have been like. Then you move on to the museum dedicated to the Royal Welsh Fusiliers which is full of interesting facts about this regiment through the ages.
A great place to visit, well worth the entrance fee.
Please note steps to the towers are very narrow.

Caernafon castle by far the best Castle I've ever seen, or is it. Drove past Conwy on the way there. Say no more.
