Owner description: After all these years Caernarfon’s immense strength remains undimmed. A brute of a fortress. Caernarfon Castle’s pumped-up appearance is unashamedly muscle-bound and intimidating. Picking a fight with this massive structure would have been a daunting prospect. By throwing his weight around in stone, King Edward I created what is surely one of the most impressive of Wales’s castles. Worthy of World Heritage status no less.

This is a fun castle to visit with plenty of history and displays which help you imagine how it was back in the day.

If you like military history, the Royal Welch Fusiliers’ museum is worth a look, and there are also videos of the last coronation of a Prince of Wales so you can see what it looks like when the English send their chosen candidates over to take the title.

Fabulous castle, well restored and a mine of information. Stayed for hours being educated in the museum - definitely go!

Personally my favorite Welsh castle. You can walk the walls and climb the towers which afford excellent views of Anglesey and Snowdonia. Staff are friendly and helpful. If you are a member of English Heritage you get in free!!!

I recalled the investiture of Prince Charles here, and find it hard to believe 4000 guests fit into this space.

When Queen Elizabeth passes on and Charles becomes King, Like Prince William, as the new Prince of Wales, will be installed here as well.

Worth visiting.

Went about 8 summers ago.

We loved this castle, and we saw many castles on our 4 1/2 months trip away. It was large, interesting, and right beside our boutique hotel. What was there not to like? Go and see it, it is a must!
