We booked the Anglesey Arms for a little break with my 2 dogs and we weren’t disappointed!
Nitty gritty out the way, the rooms are basic, could possibly do with a bit of TLC, but they’re clean & very comfortable, with everything you need. And for the price, we had absolutely no complaints.
To be honest, with the location being as it is, the Menai strait & Isle of Anglesey at the front & the beautiful, impressive towers of the Castle to the side & rear, you don’t want to spend time in your room anyway!
The bar is vibrant, friendly & very popular with locals & tourists. The staff are brilliant, even with the extra pressure of the Covid table service restrictions, being extremely busy (Wales wee playing in the Euros, so it was a bit more hectic than usual!) and their relentless battles with the seagulls, they were bubbly, friendly & efficient.
The food is good wholesome pub food and extremely tasty! Just what you need after exploring the area or playing with the dogs on the beach (as we did!) Breakfast was also very yummy & just right to set you up for the day! We took advantage of the weather and ate outside looking over towards Anglesey, what better way to start your day!
This little pub / B&B is excellent and definitely value for money. We’ll definitely go back! Infact I wish we were still there!

Room tip: Parking is a bit limited, but there’s a car park 2 mins away. (You can see it from the pub!)

The best location in Caernarfon. We visited 3 times over the weekend and on each occasion, would have stayed longer but left as we could not get served. One particularly annoying waitress just shouted "one second" every time we got her attention, then ignored us for ages afterwards. Food and drink were okay, and the location is fantastic, but the service needs sorting. There were loads of staff, but they were all stood around chatting inside while all the customers outside were not being served. Needs a manager.

Room tip: Don't go here if you're in a hurry. Sit as close to the door as possible. Tables far from the door don't get served.

My wife has just been discharged from Ysbyty Gwynedd hospital and been told to maintain isolation at home for 10 days. I telephoned the Anglesey arms and asked if they could arrange a takeaway meal. The response was Yes no problem the meal of local caught Menai, Grey Mullet and vegetables was so enjoyable. Thank you to the chef and all the staff. The Fillet of Grey Mullet was cooked to perfection. Thankyou.

We walked past the Anglesy Arms and liked the look of the place. It was busy, lots of outdoor seating with people dtinking and eating. The location is perfect, overlooking the bay.

We decided to have tea here on our second night visiting. The waitress confirmes it was table service only and so we found a seat outside. We waited 15mins and no one came to take a drinks or food order. I could see guests going in so thought it may have been orderd drinks inside, but the same waitress confirmed it was table service. So again we waited, 10 mins. Still no service. We got up and left dissapointed.

Lots of guests who had come after us also left dissapointed.

Avoid
This hotel is filthy dirty. Dirty sheets on the bed covered in hair from previous residents dirty towels left in the bathroom when complained they just offered us complimentary drinks while they put clean sheets on the bed. There is dust everywhere the bathroom floor was disgusting full of urine stains. Its also very noisy at night you can hear a strange noise going on all night.our room also had dogs hair on the carpet looks like it hasn't been hooverd in months. Would not recommend this hotel to anyone not even a dog.
