Lovely hotel full of character and charm. Small touches lend a very warm and welcoming ambience. Special mention and thanks for Toni who made our stay even more special. The deluxe suite was fabulous. Loved the narnia door learning to a gorgeous little sitting room with amazing views of the castle. Service at breakfast was a bit haphazard but had a lovely lunch at the restaurant with good service. Will definitely be returning.

Beautiful hotel in a beautiful location. We we're made to feel very welcome from our early arrival until leaving. The room was stunning with many added unexpected extras. Bed very comfortable & considering this is an old building was very quiet. Free on-site parking was a bonus. Food was delicious.
Fantastic room , i cant recommend it enough, jacuzzi bath amazing staff and everything we asked for, it is well worth the experience we couldn't of asked for more .................we will be back soon The hotel and the standard of room is outstanding. .and make every moment special
Used this hotel while visiting the area to see our sine at uni and walk locally.excellent location and very dog friendly. We did not eat in the evening at the hotel so can’t comment on that. Lots of nice pubs locally to try with doggy.
Booked for afternoon tea here. When I phoned to book there was a lot of noise going on in the background and the staff member was quite distracted and ended up booking us in for the wrong time. So we had an hour to kill before our actual booking time because of this. The afternoon tea itself was lovely. The only complaint we have was that there was no jam or butter with the scones just clotted cream!! No member of staff came to ask if everything was okay (first rule of hospitality) I just felt the whole experience was lacking somewhat
We found black fungus in several area’s in shower (reported to reception)
Food and service very slow at times, evening menu repetitive, the bar area was poorly staffed it seemed was only a skeleton staff (poor)
