Another incredible New Year break at the Bryn Howel. We were there with a walking group and it makes a great base to return to after a day out walking. The welcome is always warm, the room was comfortable with a great view. We had breakfast and evening meals provided in the package. The food is always good there but this year they have a new chef and it was outstanding. The choices for the New Year's Eve meal were exceptional and cooked to perfection. Our party called for the chef to come out for a round of applause along with the rest of the staff on duty that evening. The addition of the music of a harpist during our meal and then a disco into the small hours gave us a perfect night. Well done to all the staff especially Lorraine the very capable manager.

Having got married at the Bryn Howel ten years ago, meant that this was the perfect location for us to celebrate ten years of marriage.
The place was exactly how we remembered. I can’t believe I had forgotten what a gem of a place this venue is in terms of its location. Beautiful views of the Vale of Llangollen, a really peaceful and relaxed setting, with friendly and approachable staff.
We dined in the restaurant that evening and have to say the food was to a very high standard. The sirloin steak in a garlic and herb butter served with potato dauphinois was to die for and was served with plenty of veg! The best meal we’ve had in a restaurant for a long time.
I’m not normally one to choose a dessert, but the barabrith bread and butter pudding, which was beautiful.
The hotel is definitely in need of updating, which I believe the current owners are working on.
I can highly recommend this venue if you’re looking to dine in a friendly and relaxed environment with beautiful food and equally beautiful views!

We cannot think of a better country house hotel if you seek a beautiful location with good access and a consistently high standard. The staff are friendly and efficient, the meals are first class and the rooms are clean and comfortable with all the amenities you could hope for. The attractive dining room overlooks the Llangollen Canal with the hills beyond to tempt you to explore the countryside. There is a choice of places of interest nearby.

We have just returned from a three day walking holiday which involved staying at the Bryn Howel Hotel for bed, breakfast and evening meal during the holiday. This is the possibly the 6th consecutive New Year we have done this and yet again we have found the food at the hotel to be excellent and the staff to be brilliant. Thanks to everyone for making our stay such a good one.
