Visited here while camping down the road . Staff are friendly but seemed run off their feet therefore service a bit slow.
The setting is on a very busy dangerous road so you have to be very careful to keep any adventurous little ones safely with you .
The lady who served us was lovely but seemed to be really busy and a bit erratic so not sure how well staffed it is .
That being said when our food did arrive it was really lovely . Obviously well prepared and not just shoved in a microwave . Very reasonably priced too . Empty plates all round for all of us .
Would definitely go again

Good value for money. Friendly humorous staff despite being very busy at supper time trying to serve all guests with one staff member.

Arrived at 6pm when the restaurant opened and were the second table of people to enter, we are a family with 2 small children. We ordered our meal after about 10 minutes, nothing fancy gammon, a pie and nuggets for the children, after an hour and 10 minutes we asked if the meal would be long as the children were exhausted and hangry by this point, we were told it was just being plated up...!
The meal itself was ok (although no apology for the wait), poached egg on the gammon which was a bit strange and no veg whatsoever on the plate, chips were frozen not homemade, pie was alright. Didn't have dessert as kids knackered by this point so we asked for the bill which was brought to the table. Even though we waited well over an hour for 'ok' food we still left a tip with the money on the table (a practice we regularly use) on walking up the steps back to the car park we were shouted at to stop as we hadn't paid, we pointed out we had left the money on the table and rather than an apology we were shouted at that we 'should have taken it to the bar' and the kitchen door was slammed
Presume they are relying on tourists as I can't see a glut of returning customers after our experience, shame as could have been so different.

Fairly small restaurant, seems popular as few spare tables. Food good quality, varied but not extensive menu and service friendly.

Unfortunately it is quite difficult to properly review this pub/restaurant because, on the night that we went, they had had a busy weekend and were unable to supply a lot of what was supposed to be on the menu. It is likely that this is the case because they are very popular especially if the food we ate was anything to go by.
We both ended up eating pies with different fillings. Both tasted very good and were massive. They were accompanied by various veg and everything on the plate was steaming hot, which is great by us!
The starter was also excellent and we shared an ice cream dessert, it was no problem for them to supply two spoons. Unfortunately they had run out of decaf drinks to round off the meal.
Overall excellent food and very pleasant service and atmosphere. We'd go back and eat there again and had planned to, but they were closed on Monday evening.
