Had Lunch with my brother, in fact it was a random choice and how lovely it was ,Good quality home cooked food in a no fuss no mess pub with a log fire on a cold day.
It’s a limited menu but by heck it was lovely had the beef and Guinness pie and veg with plenty full chips,a wet pie packed with gravy and real beef...Desperate Dan would have loved this Cow pie ....worth a visit, brother had the beef Sunday roast which also was delicious....give it a go folks

We visit the Silver Fountain on a regular basis - it is a wonderful, unique pub, the best in the whole area. Fantastic food, with a good selection of vegetarian options too, good special boards, delicious Sunday roasts and great beer. Great staff, the lady behind the bar is a great character too which adds to the tremendous overall atmosphere - especially in winter with the lovely log fire burning. Can't recommend this pub enough - it is a one off and we always looking forward to our next visit.

We popped in on a rainy evening and we were so glad we did. This pub has a great atmosphere being one of the rare old places that hasn't been spoiled. We sat next to the lovely inglenook with a log fire blazing and were greeted very warmly by the lady on duty. The food was very reasonably priced and delicious. My vegetablre crumble was the best I've ever tasted and so obviously home made to a special recipe. We will visit here often in the future on our journey back from North Wales to Oswestry.

Visited three times over the last week and can confirm without doubt this is the greatest pub I have ever visited. Open log fire, good beer and the very best pub grub I've ever eaten, in huge portions. I'm tempted to make the 4 hour round trip from home just to eat the Sunday roast from here

We arrived late one Sunday evening, the lady behind the bar was lovely (even though she was rushed off her feet) All of our food was fabulous which included a chicken, leek & ham pie, a chicken korma and a chicken crumble, kids were very happy with cheesy chips and chicken breast nuggets. Great portion size, no room left for dessert sadly.
