Four of us were searching for family history of one in our midst who had traced her roots to the spectacular Antrim Coast. We had been driving, walking, climbing and arrived at the front door of the Ardaghmore late, wet and tired. Being greeted at the door by Genevieve was the best thing that could have happened to us. She led us to spacious, well appointed rooms that had magnificent views of the harbor and the Islands in the Irish Sea beyond. We received excellent recommendations on where to eat and when the searched for family name was mentioned, Genevieve put us in contact with one of the family descendants who made the trip and the search all the more worth while. We traveled together for two more weeks and all agreed that we'd return to Ballycastle and the Ardaghmore.

Room Tip: You cannot go wrong, just let Genevieve take care of you.

We really enjoyed our stay with Genevieve, were met and made very welcome. We had a end suite room at the front of the house and the view from the window is stunning, overlooking the lovely harbour and across to Rathlin island and the Mull of Kintyre. The room was very clean and comfortable with toiletries etc provided, and quiet at night. Breakfast also was very good and we were given various options(decided to go unhealthy on our last morning and have the full Irish). We booked on the strength of trip advisor reviews and were not disappointed.Ballycastle is a really nice location with several cafes, bars and restaurants,a good place to explore the Antrim coastline and glens.Would definitely return.

First of all, I do read reviews before I do any booking for a place to stay. The review about Ardaghmore in the year 2007 who was deeply disappointed no longer applies as it has changed so much. I had the room with a big double bed facing Ballycastle bay. My husband and I sat there for hours, seeping our coffee, prepared by Genevieve when we checked in, admiring the beautiful view. The room is spotless and comfortable. We were not concern about the bathroom outside as it is only for our use as our own private bathroom. Moreover, bathrobes are provided. And, it is very clean. Breakfast was superb. Home made scones and full Irish breakfast with fruits. What more can you ask for. Most of all, Genevieve is the most friendly hostess. I just know where to stay when I am in Ballycastle.
