We enjoyed what we saw of Tollymore Forest Park, even though it rained like crazy while we were there. Of course no one can blame a sight because of the weather (although I’ve read a lot of negative reviews where people try), so you just have to deal with it (or not).
There’s a modest admission fee, and parking isn’t a problem. The foot paths are in pretty good shape, but I think signage could be improved a little (they do provide a map, but it’s crude, at best). Because of the torrential downpours, we only made it through part of the park, but we did get to see the Hermitage and a few of the bridges, which were just lovely.
I will say that we wouldn’t go out of our way to revisit Tollymore Forest Park; there are just too many other and more incredible places in Ireland to see. Still, we enjoyed it, and are glad we stopped.
