We enjoyed what we saw of Tollymore Forest Park, even though it rained like crazy while we were there. Of course no one can blame a sight because of the weather (although I’ve read a lot of negative reviews where people try), so you just have to deal with it (or not).

There’s a modest admission fee, and parking isn’t a problem. The foot paths are in pretty good shape, but I think signage could be improved a little (they do provide a map, but it’s crude, at best). Because of the torrential downpours, we only made it through part of the park, but we did get to see the Hermitage and a few of the bridges, which were just lovely.

I will say that we wouldn’t go out of our way to revisit Tollymore Forest Park; there are just too many other and more incredible places in Ireland to see. Still, we enjoyed it, and are glad we stopped.

Really loved our visit here. We did the red walking trail which took us all over, next to the river, through the woods, and for all the game of thrones fans - north of winterfell!! Unfortunately we were unable to cross the river via the steppingstones as the water level was too high, but all good. Wish we could have spent longer here & I imagine in autumn it would be spectacular.

Great place but now plagued by bunches of middle aged men on BMX bicycles trying to get as muddy as possible to look ..... er...... part of a big adventure.

This is a great place for families. It is safe and lots of interest for all ages. There are walks for all abilities, a good play area for children, and good parking area. Its one of my favourite walks in any season.
