So it’s partially closed for refurbishment, but you can still enter for a reduced fee and enjoy a Well spent 40 minutes. Five stars for the staff!

We visited this week, unfortunately our timing wasn’t the best. The majority of the museum was closed due to on going work on its exhibitions.

They did have one open to the public. The staff were still fantastic and really friendly. I will have to come back again in the summer when it’s all open.

Unfortunately much of this museum was closed during our stop here, but we were able to see enough to suppose that this is quite an interesting museum. The building itself is an old stone building with an arched corridor that you have to travel through to get to the main exhibits. It is set up so that both children and adults can enjoy and also has a viewing area on the roof for unparalleled views of the city and surrounding area. I will definitely visit this museum again when I return to Derry so I can fully explore and enjoy what it has to offer.

A very good museum but very limited when we were there as there was a lot of work going on so little to see but it was free so still well worth it. We will try to get there again when the main areas are open.

We went on a Sunday and didn't know the main part of the museum will be closed, but met Jerry at the reception desk. He was such a delight and has a wealth of knowledge about history and culture. He explained to us the full history of the city, its importance in European (and global) development, and its political, religious, and cultural significance.

Talking to and learning from him was fun and informative, and the world needs more people like that. I hope Derry knows what a gem they have in Jerry.
