Traveled to Fraserburgh as paternal grandfather immigrated to Canada in 1910. Was very pleasantly surprised at the excellent museum (well designed and interactive for children) and the wealth of information about the city, its history and famous people from Fraserburgh - ie. Madama Butterfly, the opera was inspired by a Fraserburghian.

We visited the heritage centre, which we found very interesting with plenty to look at. Very hands on for children.

A good descriptive history of the town. The hand held audio device gave useful information and was easy to use. We didn't have a lot of time there, so couldn't read everything, making the short audio descriptions particularly helpful. Lots of 'hands on' and a really wide variety of exhibits. Something for all ages.

Very nice staff and a wide range of recent history on display. We loved the beach train with the cine footage of it in use in the 60s.

This is not to be missed and excellent insight to early life and the fishing industry which was the main source of employment for many years.
