I'd really like to give this a higher rating. We've been coming here for many years, and the food is superb quality. I found the new decor after the recent refurbishment too dark, but have pretty much got used to it. However there are huge problems on the service front, particularly since the refurb. It typically takes ages to have your order taken, then an incredibly long wait for drinks, then much later food. Even when the place is not very busy at all. And if you order cakes and more drinks later they typically take an eternity to arrive too. I'm not sure why this is, but suspect too low staff numbers may be a factor, with the staff there are stretched thinly. It is such a shame, because they are friendly, and as I've said the food is great. But at the moment I can only recommend Gracie's reluctantly, with the warning be prepared to wait a while. I hope things improve.

We were seated and the waiter took our order promptly. However, after 25 minutes of waiting for 2 diet cokes and panini's the waiter came back over to our table and asked us to remind him what we had ordered. After this it took about another 15 minutes for our order to finally arrive at our table. COLD!! the food had finally came but to our disappointment they were both look warm. By this time we were so hungry that we were desperate to eat our food but were left very unsatisfied, without even an apology.

Service slow, menu pricing very misleading. Under the soup @ £3.95 it states 'for £2 more you can have soup & sandwich' = £5.95 you'd think.... NO. Its £2 more on a very overpriced £5.95 sandwich...therefore, actually £7.95. All we got was a shrug when the price was challenged. Needless to won't be back

My friend and i visited Gracie's for Lunch this Saturday afternoon and were pleasently suprised by what could only be described as a faultness experience.

We arrived around 2pm on a saturday and although it was difficult to find a parking space directly outside we easily found one around much further down the street; as is the case with many places in the ferry a brisk 2-5 minute walk will get you most places, so be prepared to not get parked right outside.

We were seated almost immediately at a clean table with comfortable chairs and were presented with menus as we sat down. Shorty after, our orders were taken with a smile and our food arrived within 5-10 minutes.

There was a good selection of sandwiches, panini's, a soup of the day option and on the reverse of the menu burgers and hot dogs, all very reasonably priced between £5 and £10.

We opted for the Salmon and creme cheese sandwich(£5-ish) with a side of sweet potato fries(£3). The sandwiches were resonable size and came accompanied with crisps and a little salad, all delicious. The sweet potato fries were equally good and warm.

There were a variaty of cocktails, alcoholic and soft drink as well as a choice of coffees. We both ordered the house coffee which was a perfect temperature and of good quality; I usually drink single origin coffee and this appeared to be equally well sourced and tasty.

Afterwards we had a slice of cake, from the selection presented at the counter as you enter. I asked a waitress for a reccommendation which was the chocolate cake, as this had already been finished her second place option was the toffee cake, which was delicious.

In short, sandwich, side, 2 coffees and a slice of cake for £13.25(1 person). Prompt, service with a smile, during what i assume is a peak time. End-to-end flawless experience in a busy cafe near the center of Broughty Ferry. I will most definitely be returning to Gracies.

We have visited here 4-5 times in the last 2-3 months generally for coffee & cake.

Staff, place & good All great but service is so slow.

So much so that I had to order and pay at the counter as no staff came to take our order or supply a bill.

There appears to be no system as on each occasion customers who came in after us had their orders taken before us!!

Sort it out please.
