We recently stayed at this Hotel for an extended weekend visit to Edinburgh as part of a joint Wedding Anniversary / Birthday celebration. Our room was very clean, excellent bed giving a very comfortable nights sleep, good facilities including air con, iron, hairdryer, deep bath, walk in shower, large screen tv. Not a brilliant view but we were out of the room more than we were in. We had room service on the first evening due to a late arrival, and along with the other evening meals they were tasty and filling. Slight delays at breakfast entailed a couple of minutes in a queue, but the turnaround was well managed. A few issues with the toaster usage at breakfast - but this was down to the impatience of another guest not the hotel (another hotel we have stayed at has a dedicated toast maker to mitigate this). Bar was good, especially the fact they sold 80 -/ beer! Pool was good, although only used once it has good opening hours (06:30 - 22:00). The main selling point to us though was the staff, very friendly and approachable, could not do enough to help or find an answer to our queries. We will definitely stay here again on future Edinburgh visits. Finally there is a handy entrance off Carlton Road from the Railway Station which saves walking along Princes Street with heavy luggage.

Third stay at this hotel. Excellent location situated about 5 minutes from the main train station. Modern and clean with good food. Eggs Benedict for breakfast - delicious; and very good club sandwich at dinner. Parts of his hotel have Georgian origins, such as part of part of the restaurant and the bar area. Lovely pool; not the largest, but more than adequate with good changing room. Spa area smelt divine! Staff excellent. Very professional and helpful. Looking forward to next visit.

This hotel is fantastically located! Its super near to the Edinburgh Waverley station and to the old town and the new town. You get the best of the both part of the town when you stay here. Defo recommend this hotel to anyone.

The booking team was amazingly helpful when I called to book 2 nights from London. Can’t remember their names but it was two ladies. Very helpful, professional, polite and cheerful. In fact all the ladies that I came across in the hotel reception desk were brilliant. The man behind the desk needs to smile and relax a little bit!!

The twin room was spacious and had all the amenities that was listed on their website. Plenty of mirrors, good blackout curtains, good strong free wifi; always handy! The carpet seemed a little bit old and dirty. The white towels were clean and fluffy and the bed was very comfortable. The bathroom was very clean but the floor in the shower room have not been designed very well and you end up getting lot of standing water. Plus the bathroom fan is not strong enough and it gets misty pretty quick.

We were on the ground floor/same floor as the reception and the road can be noisy but coming from London I guess we were use to the noise and it didn’t bother us. I opened the window in the morning and it was tricky to close, the lady on the front desk was very quick in dealing with the issue and promptly came to close the window. Once the window is closed shut you can barely hear the street noise. I found the front desk to be very good and quick in dealing with queries.

Tips: the mirror in the bathroom opens up and you will find face towels and shower caps. Ironing board, iron and hair dryer is in the big cupboard. The plug is only on one side of the bed (underneath the TV there is another one) and on the other side you have the light switch controls. It’s always helpful and convenient to have plugs on the both side of the beds.

Would I come and stay here again? Yes I would!!
