We recently stayed at this Hotel for an extended weekend visit to Edinburgh as part of a joint Wedding Anniversary / Birthday celebration. Our room was very clean, excellent bed giving a very comfortable nights sleep, good facilities including air con, iron, hairdryer, deep bath, walk in shower, large screen tv. Not a brilliant view but we were out of the room more than we were in. We had room service on the first evening due to a late arrival, and along with the other evening meals they were tasty and filling. Slight delays at breakfast entailed a couple of minutes in a queue, but the turnaround was well managed. A few issues with the toaster usage at breakfast - but this was down to the impatience of another guest not the hotel (another hotel we have stayed at has a dedicated toast maker to mitigate this). Bar was good, especially the fact they sold 80 -/ beer! Pool was good, although only used once it has good opening hours (06:30 - 22:00). The main selling point to us though was the staff, very friendly and approachable, could not do enough to help or find an answer to our queries. We will definitely stay here again on future Edinburgh visits. Finally there is a handy entrance off Carlton Road from the Railway Station which saves walking along Princes Street with heavy luggage.
