Had a wonderful first night in Edinburgh at the VOB food was top class and service attentive, it was pretty quiet being a Thursday night but would thoroughly recommend.

Don’t miss this bar and restaurant and its outstanding food. Clientele when we visited (on a Thursday night) seemed to be from the neighbourhood and there was a really relaxed, tourist free vibe here.
We picked up on the mood and started with a round of whiskies to celebrate the (early) weekend, really enjoying a couple of great recommendations. Then the three of us shared two starters - langoustines in harissa butter (that are worth the trip alone) and salt and pepper squid. Main courses included rump of lamb with almond and apricot couscous, lemon and mascarpone chicken and a summer lasagne of squash and spinach. We had no room for puddings but couldn’t resist the off the chart cherry crumble and the creme fraiche panna cotta with roasted nectarines and smashed honeycomb.
This combination of a very talented chef, a warm and welcoming team out front, a strange name and stylish but relaxed decor made for a stand out evening- don’t miss it.

Great wee pub. Of good quality and always a nice range of craft beers. Food is decent as well. Stayed open during second lockdown even though almost certainly losing money, so gets a large plus in my eyes. Service is tremendous.......very friendly folk. Fine place before and during covid crisis.....will be just as good when we are all allowed to go back drinking beers.

Gorgeous bar, beautiful drinks - socially safe covid secure
We popped in for several glasses of Prosecco last night, absolutely delicious!
Staff were brilliant, on the ball with taking our details and having a one way system in place - lots of sanitiser dotted about.
The fizz was delicious! And the flutes were gorgeous - truly stunning aesthetic in here!
Parmesan truffle fries were also delicious!
Can’t wait to go back - thanks for a brilliant evening
