Our bus stayed here over night on our way to Outer Hebrides with GB tours, our evening meal in their restaurant Scholars was fantastic 3 courses all were delious. Breakfast next morning was also lovely. The staff in hotel were lovely, rooms nice I would definitely stay there again I was told by staff that you can book a table without being a resident.

Stayed for 3 days while working at the University. This was a lovely hotel. Recently refurbished - had a very nice room on the top floor in the roof. Very quiet. Great breakfast good food in the restaurant in the evening. Very friendly and helpful staff.

Room tip: Very close to Holyrood park to walk or run with great views if Edinburgh. Some good local shops and bars a short walk away. Good bus connections into Edinburgh centre.

Stayed her for three nights October 2022 with the Scotland Rugby League team prior to the Rugby League World Cup. What a great find this hotel was.
Spotlessly clean and so very comfortable. Bedrooms roomy and the beds as comfortable as you can get.
The food was excellent, and they catered for our every need. The breakfasts were amazing and the service was beyond reproach .
Special shout out to our servers Chez, Shannon and the boss Karen. Could not have been better.
A massive thank you and a great start to our World Rugby League Cup campaign . Defo use this hotel again.

The outside of the hotel looks a little grim but don’t let this review put you off, inside its smart, clean and comfortable. Rooms have lovely comfy beds, good linen and a nice clean bathroom, our rooms were very quiet and we have nice views. Breakfast was very nice and staff super nice and helpful. Thoroughly recommend for a city break!

We have just returned from two nights in Edinburgh staying at the Scholar Hotel on Holyrood park road.
We stayed in room 216 the room was very clean lovely big bed and everything we needed.
The staff were second to none brilliant,on arrival the reception staff were very polite and helpful and explained everything we needed to know from restaurant times to the best buses to catch nothing was to much trouble for them.
The restaurant/bar staff were helpful friendly and made sure we had everything we needed when we wanted it.
The menu although small had enough choice and the food was cooked to perfection.
My wife being a fussy eater they even allowed her to choose a main from the kid’s menu.
Breakfast well what can I say for someone who has stay in many hotels this was the best one ever cooked and presented beautifully.
Thank you Scholar Hotel our first visit to Edinburgh was made so much better just by staying there and especially the staff 5*

Room tip: Our room was perfect so 216
