This place is completely outstanding!

Immaculate!

Modern!

Convenient!

Attention to detail beyond belief... soap, bedding, rooms, fittings, towels...

Could not be bettered!

Breakfasts superb... home made soda bread, perfect poached eggs, string coffee....

And above all else is the wonderful Elaine!

Exceptional social skills... giving you the warmest welcome on Scotland!

We feel well placed to judge running one of the top BBS south of the border in Richmond Yorkshire...

Unsurpassable!

Tim and Oz Millgate House Richmond.

This is one of the best bed and breakfasts we have stayed in around the UK.
The bed was extremely comfortable and the bathroom clean and spacious.
The best part for us was the dining/lounge, furnished just to my taste with mid-century pieces. A lovely room in which we had superb breakfasts. Little things like linen napkins and home-made jam make all the difference.
The hospitality of Elaine was the best thing of all - nothing was too much trouble and we had a great 3 night stay, thank you.
Suggest coffee or lunch at the famous Valvona and Crolla just round the corner.

2 Hillside Crescent is a lovely BnB. My husband and I stayed there the end of October, 2017. It was part of an independent train tour we arranged with Uniquely Scotland. We were not part of a group because we prefer to travel independently. This was our last "train stop" in Scotland and we finished it with an amazing BnB. The moment we stepped through the door there was an instantaneous feeling of welcome. The room was gorgeous with it's ensuite bathroom. The breakfast was delicious with several choices.
The location was within walking and/or tram ride to all the locations we wanted to visit. The BnB is also near many interesting and lovely restaurants to include Hungarian to a "Gardner's Cottage Restaurant". Highly recommend this wonderful BnB.

Situated just a short walk from the centre of Edinburgh so very convenient if arriving by train. We received a very warm welcome from Elaine who served us complimentary tea and lovely home-made biscuits on arrival. The property is an absolutely stunning Georgian townhouse which has been sympathetically restored. The large rooms are warm, beautifully decorated and spotlessly clean. Breakfast was delicious and we would definitely stay here again.

We flew into Edinburgh and did not get a car right away as we were going to be leaving the next day to drive around Scotland. Elaine, Bryan, and Anna made our stay absolutely wonderful. Since we didn't have a car we dropped our bags off and took off walking around Edinburgh. I think we were gone for around six hours and came back exhausted and famished. Bryan had some suggestions for dinner that were close to the B & B. We chose Italian for our first night in Scotland. The bed was the most comfortable bed I think I have ever slept in. The room was immaculate and beautiful. We had a tiny plumbing issue but it was fixed right away. Breakfast was delicious and Anna even called a cab for us to take us back to the rental car place. This was an incredible start to our trip! We would recommend this lovely B & B and would stay again if we are to ever get back to Edinburgh.

Room Tip: We stayed on the second floor which had a view of a lovely park.
