The hotel is a little gem, tucked away near the base of Arthur's Seat. We only stayed for one night, but we can honestly say it was a brilliant experience! The staff-member at reception was incredibly friendly (and so was his awesome dog), and he helped us get reacquainted with the ins-and-outs of Edinburgh. The room was clean and meticulously kept, with complimentary tea and biscuits, and bottled water (which was welcome after hours on the train). The cooked vegetarian breakfast was perfect, and we got a chance to meet the owner – he was incredibly friendly and helpful, and he clearly pours a lot of love and care into making sure everybody is taken care of. We will definitely be back in the future, what a great experience! (p.s. when you stay at the hotel and meet that awesome dog, throw the ball, she is deaf and that little ball is her world!)

Brilliant little hotel! Staff are amazing, friendly & helpful. Great breakfast & catered for special diets.
Rooms very clean, have everything we needed. Great location - it was a walk or easy bus to the centre. Wonderful stay, would happily return.

Room tip: Ask staff for suggestions of places to go!

Lovely clean room with all amenities we needed. We enjoyed a relaxing stay in this peaceful spot and the manager was very helpful indeed; he really couldn’t do enough for us and the breakfast was very good too. We even found plentiful public EV charging points at nearby Edinburgh University Pollock Halls campus so we had all angles covered!

Picked this hotel because it was close to the royal commonwealth pool where I had tickets to see the national diving cup. Then hotel entrance is behind the main street but it is still within walking distance of the pool and located only metres from bus stops both into Edinburgh centre or out towards musselburgh/Leith. The hotel itself is very clean, very homely. The proprietors were very welcoming. My room was lovely, breakfast was gorgeous and as a solo female traveller I felt totally safe and very comfortable. Thank you for a lovely stay.
