We were having a nice time enjoying an evening drink. However, we were not advised that children were not allowed in the pub garden after 8pm. We were asked to leave rather abruptly ‘you need to leave right now’ were the words used. No apology. I had just bought a round of drinks which was partly refunded which was the least they could do but still no apology. We have visited this pub many times with no problem so this treatment was rather surprising. I would suggest the staff receive training in this aspect otherwise they will lose business. Nothing on there website about this. Beware the rather strange licensing laws in Scotland.

First time here for a long time. Excellent range of beers and gins. Pub was busy and the atmosphere was good with couples, families and the odd friendly dog too. We ordered our food and didn't have to wait too long. My partner had the smoked salmon open sandwich which was served with chips and I had the mussel starter with a side of chips and dips. Food was delicious, service was good and we will definitely go back again.

Just the most amazing night. The staff couldn't have been more helpful. The food & service were both exceptional. Thank you for helping us to pull off the best surprise ever. The library was the perfect venue for a Harry Potter themed party!

Have been here for breakfast in the past which was e excellent. This time for lunch which I enjoyed. Good place to meet friends with children. Also it’s next to the Grange where we were going to watch some cricket so perfect location for us.

We timed it right! Unusual appetizers are frequently offered, and on our visit, the special was BBQ Pulled Beef Donuts. And one was not enough! So after two "donuts" we knew that our meal would be just as good. Having eaten fish and chips each day for lunch, we decided on steak for dinner. And what a great choice. The Raeburn uses a Josper oven for the preparation of their steaks. Being from Texas, I have eaten many steaks, and I have to say, this steak was excellent. The steak was served with salad and roasted cherry tomatoes. The meal ended with a perfectly prepared creme brûlée with a side of mini-churros. Our server, Nicole, was extremely attentive, offering wine suggestions, answering any questions, and just making sure that we had a fabulous meal.
