Not been for a few years. I remember why I used to like this restaurant a lot!
A tasting menu comprising Artichoke, scallops, hake, venison..and sticky toffee pudding...with a great, decently priced wine selection...is a super menu.
It's become progressively more expensive over the years - as seems standard nowadays. The menu was £50 pp. But that's now the price of a good fine dining restaurant.
Flavours were excellent. Particular mention worthy to the scallops and the venison. Both outstanding.
The presentation of the food was good but not necessarily brilliant. Artichoke veloute was tasty but presented like a grey angel delight!
A good location on the High Street. It's a small restaurant and a little tight for space. But it's well decorated to make the ambiance quite agreeable.
Will be back!
