Called into The Shore one wet Tuesday afternoon. Wasn’t sure if it was open as it was very dark. When we entered we were met by a waitress who told us they were open for lunch. Not one person in the restaurant or bar. Good choice on the menu. I had the Black pudding and haggis fritters for starters and the steak pie for my main course. Both very good portions and of a very high standard. Can thoroughly recommend this establishment. Don’t be put off if you turn up one afternoon and it looks closed.

Stopped off here when in the area, Friendly welcome and shown to a nice table.
Staff were friendly and helpful and happy to discuss the menu.

I had the seafood chowder as a starter and is was excellent, our mains of batter fish and chips was very good, piping hot and a generous portion.

The restaurant is nicely laid out and cosy. During our visit a bus party of tourists arrived and were shown to the dining area to the rear. the staff were buzzing everywhere but it did not detract from the service we got as casual visitors.

Good food, nice place and great staff.

Well worth a visit.

Have been visiting The Shore in and off over the years and always found the food to be amazing with warm and friendly staff. Great deals on during the week which with offers on steaks one night and burgers another night. Also do great lunch and dinner deals. Would highly recommend The Shore for fantastic food and friendly service. My favourite meal is the fish, scampi or a steak by family members have had various food from the menu all delicious.

We stumbled upon this place as we were looking for somewhere that would allow us to bring the dog.

It is clean and welcoming with really friendly staff. The dog was given a bowl of water when we arrived and the kids were shown to the toy box and allowed to choose some games to play!

The menu is extensive and includes a set menu that is really great value for money. The portions are adequate for the price and the food was fresh and very tasty.

The children's menu was a little disappointing as it worked out almost as expensive as the adults. They don't offer a set menu for kids but instead charge £2.50 for a starter, £5 for a main and £1 for a drink.

We will be back - even just for the handcooked nachos. They were amazing!
