Spent a night at Deveron House in May 2017 whilst visiting the University on business.

It's a superb location - right opposite the University, and a short stroll from the high street or coast.

I received a very warm welcome from the hosts. My room was clean, tidy and simple - everything I needed with the very welcome addition of Tunnocks Teacakes.

Breakfast the next day was brilliant - a full Scottish breakfast with haggis. Hot and tasty it set me up well for the day ahead...

A great choice if you're visiting St Andrews for business or pleasure.

On the plus side, the B and B is well situated in the centre of the city, on a main road; free parking on the street if you can find it. Friendly welcome with clear instructions (also, for once, coherent written info., e.g., about doorkeys, etc.). Breakfast ok, have had better (at this price). Room OK, rather sombre decor; coffee tea and biscuits provided; wi-fi worked, but occasionally faltered. Central heating seemed to work on a masterswitch - once it was off, fiddling with the radiator in the room made no difference. Advisable to give the heat a boost when it's working. Main drawback: room had a large - pleasant - sash window overlooking main street. No curtains, just flimsy white plastic blinds; which meant (i) street noise carried (fortunately, it wasn't a rowdy Saturday night, if they have those in St Andrews); (ii) impossible to darken the room in daytime if you want a siesta (which, after I along drive, we did); and (iii) combined with the c.g system, the room tend to stay stubbornly chilly, the curtainless window being an obvious source of heat loss. Suggest a big heavy dark curtain to supplement (or replace) the blinds.

Perfect location as right opposite the University so very handy for everywhere. Rooms were comfortable with good beds and linens. The breakfast was amazing and Marion just went that extra mile to make sure we were happy and all the little touches. Very hospitable host

We were attending a wedding at the Old Course and booked Deveron House for 2 nights. Lovely B&B. Marion & Graham were so lovely, couldn't do enough for us. Marion managed to get the 4 of us in to the Fairmont on the Sunday to their Spa, that was fantastic. Rooms at Deveron House are really nice, we had rooms looking on to main Street. Bathroom was en suite also lovely. Full cooked breakfast was offered, but you can ask for mostly anything, plenty cereals etc to choose from also. Had a fantastic weekend with friends, a lot of that to do with Marion and also location. Definitely 5 star treatment, will definitely return.
