“Underneath the Arches”

Platform at Argyle Street Arches
Ranked #755 of 2,618 Restaurants in Glasgow
Description: Platform is a rotating community of some of the very best independent food traders in Scotland who share very high food values, within the iconic setting of Argyle Street Arches. Platform is shaking up the city centre food offering by providing great, seasonal food cooked quickly in front of you, sustainably sourced and at an affordable price. Rather than being run by any one person, it is a fiercely independent collaborative project with a strong environmental ethos and a common goal - putting great authentic street food firmly on the map in Glasgow’s city centre.

The moll and I visited the Platform at the Arches for a Friday treat and what a treat it was. So happy that Glasgow now offering a couple of venues to showcase local culinary talents and this one really hits the mark. Visiting on a Friday we were able to benefit the Friday specials with main meal and a soft drink a fiver. Great vibe, great staff and the culinary delights took us around the world. Quite busy for a Friday lunchtime but aware it was also a holiday for some.
The braised beef shin bun with slaw was stunning and the scallops with Orkneys finest black pudding on pea purée was off the scale and finishing off with a Catalan creme brûlée was the burnt sugar on the cake.
This will become a regular and hope local foodies go out and support and it can only grow.

What a place, it is a plethora of great eats and we absolutely loved our pizza and coffee in the cafe downstairs, while things were rocking upstairs in the food market, there is a quiet escape in the cafe, loved the whole experience.

What a great use of the Arches, history, great food, friendly staff and huge spacious venue with endless opportunities for feeding your soul.
