Firstly the good point - the female receptionist on check in moved us to ground floor room on request. My fault entirely, I didn't think to factor my friends mobility issue in when booking.
Now on to the bad points - at no point are you advised before booking that the hotel is situated up a very steep hill. Even the fittest may struggle. Location wise you're just off the main shopping strip. Taxis will cost around £5-£8. There's steps outside the hotel, again not good for mobility issues. Now the building is listed which means renovations can't really be done and that's fair enough, however the rooms are very dated (the one we had was anyway) and I got bed bug bites from the bedding. Notified the hotel and they apologised. The bathroom, well it was sub zero in there and the shower cubicle needed a good clean. Decent sized bathroom though. On check out the young female receptionist said it was fine to check out at 1045 instead of 1030, a few mins later the cleaner woman asked why we were still there. Told her to check with reception. Pleasant staff but hate to say wouldn't stay again xMore
