overall great stay at sandyford lodge good size room at back of hotel room 10 no view but we were only there to sleep so that didn't matter and it was very quiet, all staff friendly and welcoming room was decorated to a good standard with a good sized en suite and the shower was fantastic excellent breakfast was provided with good choice on offer, only disappointment was that the bed was not very comfortable felt as if you were always rolling to the edge of the bed maybe needs new mattress, was easy to find just off the motorway and in an excellent location for most attractions, despite the bed issue would definitely recommend and would stay again excellent value for money

Room Tip: Rooms at front will have a view but may be noisy due to the busy road

Glasgow always has a lot going for itself. Being a music fan and going to concerts on a regular basis this has become something of a home from home.

Staff are great and will attend to your need 24 hours on demand. Anything you need within reasons you just have to ask. Prices for single rooms tend to range from £35-£45 quite reasonable for Glasgow standards. Rooms are equipped with TV and bed. Depending on room you will either get bath or shower. Unlimited supply of tea or coffee.

The next day is always a treat as you wake up to a full cooked breakfast. Breakfast also includes fruit, cereal and a wide range of fruit juice and exotic teas. Yogarts are also included so you'll get your moneys worth. Checkout is 10.30 and taxi's can be arranged to take you to destinations.

Home from home at aFFORDable prices.

Scott Rolland

Room Tip: Some rooms require stairs but other rooms can be arranged.

I arrived at Sandyford Lodge to spend three nights in Glasgow. The lodge is stunning from the outside - very Regency and beautiful. The man at the desk helped us carry all our suitcases up to our room, which was most appreciated. The room was very large indeed - there was ample space for all the suitcases, the beds, a table and chair, a couch etc. The room was well decorated and very vintage, which is what I expected based on my first impression. It was a room that overlooked the street outside, and the fact that it had a massive window meant that it provided a lot of light and a great view. The room was very clean and it was fully serviced every day. The only down-side regarding the room is that the shower was very small, making it somewhat uncomfortable. The beds were very large and the linen was soft and fresh, providing an excellent night's sleep. The breakfast area downstairs was very quaint and a hot breakfast was made to order every morning, which I thought was a lovely personal touch. The lodge is somewhat out of the city center but within easy walking distance to Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Museum (one of the best places to visit in Glasgow), and a trip to the city center will only set you back about £2 and 10 minutes on a bus. When we left, the owners took the time to chat to us about our visit, how we liked Glasgow etc and even helped take our suitcases out to the waiting taxi. When I return to Glasgow I shall definitely be staying at Sandyford Lodge again.

Room Tip: Our room was upstairs facing the street, which provided a lovely view and plenty of light.

Stayed for 1 night in February 2017 with my son. Staff were lovely really friendly and helpful. Place was very clean. ..quite adequate for a nights stay. Breakfast was great the next morning. ..however the times are very early.
Only downside was that beds were uncomfortable

We chose this hotel purely on location and it had good reviews. We were not disappointed. Check in was very efficient, the guy who checked us in was very friendly and gave us directions to the Hydro for our show and how to get to city centre for restaurants etc. Our room was number 10 which was just behind reception, so I was initially worried about noise with other guests coming and going. However you could have heard a pin drop it was so quiet. The room was spacious, basic but clean. Tea, coffee etc supplied. Flat screen tv. Good shower room, shower gel and soap supplied. Very hot water. Comfy bed. Breakfast was very good. Fruit juices, fruit, yoghurt, cereal, variety of teas and tea or coffee. Cooked breakfast is cooked to order. Wholemeal and white toast. Nothing there to complain about. However they stop breakfast at 8.30am which I think is a wee bit too early to stop. The hotel is a bit frayed around the edges, a lick of paint and new carpets in public areas wouldn't go amiss. The staff were all very friendly. All in all, I would recommend this hotel for a city break, it has all your requirements at budget rates. Will definitely use it again if in Glasgow.
