It is also know, the resort is a bit ;tired', this can be so easily fixed by applying for example a lick of paint to the inside of the accommodation, which could have already been done last year when there were little or no visitor. This would have done the resort a lot of favours. Plus there should be more information how to walk into town and a better colourful map with foot passes. more information about walking routes etc. Maybe these were available but after asking several times we were not pointed to any leaflets about it

I was a little put off by the negative reviews before we arrived but we had a fantastic stay. We had a chalet which was extremely clean. It was a bit tired in terms of furnishings but it had everything we needed. Lots of comfy bedding and towels. Plenty of hot water and very warm.

There are restrictions regarding opening times for the bar and spa but this is covid and staff related. It didn't affect our stay. The facilities were excellent, very clean and modern.
We ate and drank in the restaurant with our 2 dogs and were made to feel very welcome. The food was really lovely.

The location of the resort is perfect for relaxing and then just a slow 20 min stroll along the river into Aviemore centre.

Nothing to fault and we will be back for another stay. We highly recommend.

Spent 3 nights in one of their Chalets. Ok so it’s not posh but suited us down to the ground. Comfortable & clean with a lovely view of the golf course ( we stayed in chalet 9). Staff on reception were very friendly and personable. Swimming pool excellent and you don’t need to book. Towels provided but take a £1 for your locker. We ate in for all meals as don’t feel quite comfortable eating out just yet. Kitchen in the chalet has everything you need to cook a meal. A bit of a walk into Aviemore centre but there is a bus stop near to reception which we might check next time. You can walk along the cycle way which cuts some of the walk out and it’s lovely. I would definitely recommend if you want to self cater. It’s not the ritz but if you have a family with children it’s absolutely ideal. We will be back - Thankyou Macdonalds

We arrived on Monday the 30th of August to stay at the Cairngorm Villas in the Spey Valley Resort till the Saturday, for us the accommodation was great there were two large On Suite Bedrooms on the Ground Floor and on the First Floor a nice sized Kitchen and a large Lounge Diner off of which there was a lovely enclosed conservatory type area which overlooked the 9 hole golf course. I am 71 and play off of an 18 Handicap and really enjoyed the rounds I had on the 9 hole course as did my wife Jackie on a couple of occasions . We ate in the Restaurant on two of the evenings and we were so happy with our Steaks and desserts of Sticky Toffee Pudding on the first night we had the same on the second with a nice Bottle of Italian Red on both evenings. All the Staff we came across both at Reception and in the Restaurant were friendly and provided great service.

I agree with other reviewers that the furniture, maintenance and decor of both the interior and exterior of the buildings are well overdue some updating but this took nothing away from us having a really enjoyable if expensive week and without doubt we will be back.
