Description: The Druie takes its name from the burn(river) that rushes behind the restaurant and always seems in a hurry to carry clear, sparkling mountain water from the Cairngorms to the River Spey. We are open daily 9.30am - 5.00pm for locally roasted coffee, locally sourced tasty lunches, leaf teas and delicious homemade cakes, with a focus on dishes prepared from lovingly home produced beef from our pedigree herd of Highland cattle, our velvety venison from the ancient forest of Rothiemurchus and seasonal produce from specialist producers, served in a relaxed, friendly environment. Whilst enjoying your coffee or lunch at the Druie, you can enjoy the exhibition of local artwork which changes each month, especially selected by Ellie, who manages the Gallery at Loch an Eilein and is also a member of Creative Cairngorms.

The Druie is in Rothiemurchus, just outside Aviemore. My favourite place to have lunch and coffee.

Always busy and worth a short wait for a table.

Homemade soup is good, roast beef sandwiches are amazing and lovely coffee.

Just make sure you have time and not in a rush as it’s a busy wee place.

Visited the place twice over the weekend. Staff were great in helping to book our large group onto high ropes activity after the ski slopes were closed. I and a colleague had coffees. Despite the place being very busy the staff were very efficient and the service was fast.

On our return the next day the staff renenbered our order.

There is also a butcher/deli on site with great choice of cheese, venison and sausage products. Just had to buy some.

Thank you for telling about your visit to Rothiemurchus and so pleased we helped. We're very pleased you were impressed with the service and the team remembered you in the Druie. Our pure bred naturally produced Highland Beef and Venison is always available fresh in the Estate Farm Shop and in our home cooked frozen meals and we love being able to offer such a great selection of Scottish Cheese - hope you enjoyed everything you bought. Hope to see you again soon.

The Druie caffe at the Rothiemurchus visitor center is a great place to warm you up after a chilly walk. The service is very friendly, and the cakes lovely. Try the creamy hot chocolate, it is great!
