Finding a hotel room in inverness can be a challenge. If found it can wipe all the holiday money before you even join in the fun to find nessy.
An area called Highfields has many lodges, guest houses and b&b s.
I haven't sampled them but it is difficult to imagine anything surpassing abermar guest house. I took room 10 and my daughter took 11. She is a hotel person but has nothing but praises for her stay at abermar.
Breakfast is personally prepared to order.it is great in quality and quantity. The front court is so beautiful you just feel like you have a little palace for a moment. It's personally managed by James, (sorry I forget the lady's name) but boy! What a team. They are charming and purely brilliant individuals. I thank them for a stay like very few other if any.

This is a lovely place to stay if your visiting Inverness. It's a short walk into the city. The guest house itself is absolutely spotless, our room had a huge en-suite and our breakfast was delicious with a great selection.
I would recommend Abermar to anyone visiting Inverness.

Loved our stay here. As others said it was only 5 minutes to the city center and the hosts were very nice. Breakfast was very good definitely the best of our whole trip because the eggs were fresh and not from mix like the hotels. So glad we chose this option over a hotel in Inverness.

James and Alison are amazing hosts! We had a very delayed train getting into Scotland from Stratford and arrived well after nine p.m. They knew we were tired and hungry so James asked us if he could take us downtown to a great restaurant. We were happy for the gesture! Now onto the room and breakfast...the room was cozy, pretty, and comfortable. It felt like being at home. Breakfast was a fantastic English breakfast with meat, eggs, fresh fruit, toast, etc. They were able to store and charge my mobility scooter as well. We truly were blessed to get to know this couple on our whirlwind trip of the U.K. and Ireland.

This excellent B&B is located about a five minute walk from city center. There is private off street parking. Although our room faced the street, it was very quiet at night. We had a room with two beds, one larger one small, and the room size was very spacious and accommodating for the three of us. Bathroom looked new, and again fairly spacious by european standards. Plenty of hot water. This place had the best towels of any B&B we stayed at during three weeks in Scotland. Huge, fluffy and fresh. Sounds like nothing, but it really stood out. They even had wash cloths, which seem to be something almost unheard of in europe/UK. Lots of nice touches in the room like tea, cookies, toiletries.
Owners were very friendly and helpful throughout our stay. Breakfasts were delicious and filling, with a large variety of full and continental breakfast items available.
