We didn't stop for lunch but it smelt and looked good. The coffee was just right and the cakes good. The prices are about average.

Must have forgotten the salt, sugar or both in their scones yesterday. Service at the till iffy. Will not bother to visit again. Better choices on the High Street.

We stopped for lunch whilst driving to Mallaig and picked Cafe Ecosse totally at random. It turned out to be a good choice providing good food and service..

Getting out of the rain we chose this cafe because from outside it looked warm & cosy with clean tables & low comfy chairs to relax after walking. There's a great selection of sandwiches & hot food if you wait a little longer. Minutes later we ate hot cheese & onion pasties with TASTEY red onion. The hot chocolate drink had a huge dollop of fluffy cream on top. The staff were always busy making sure the tables were ready for the constant customer flow & the Toilets where kept clean.

Well done to all the ladies here, keep up the good work.

Stopped in Fort William on our way home from a highland break for soup and a sandwich and came across Cafe Ecosse - which appeared to suit our needs perfectly - and didn't require a 30/40 minute wait like the pub across the street!

Service was prompt but the Cafe was packed and table clearing was a tad slow, so we cleared our own table. Not really an issue, everyone scrambling for food can never be a bad thing.

That being said, the atmosphere is Cafe Ecosse is pleasant and the staff were helpful.
We ordered the Soup of the Day - which turned out to be Tomato and Red Pepper; and sandwiches in the variety of Egg Mayonnaise and Chicken Mayo.

The soup was fresh, hot and very edible. A bit sweet for my taste, but overall very pleasant.
The sandwiches were absolutely packed with filling and freshly made; really good quality grub considering how busy the Cafe was.
Only begrudge the price - cost £17.90 for two soups and two sandwiches; which in all was worth the convenience but perhaps not best bang for buck.

However, Cafe Ecosse was adequate and with excellent service and decent food, cannot be disparaged.
Thanks muchly :)
