On arrival we had the best welcome from a very lovely lady who showed us around the areas of the hotel we needed to know. Lovely lounge area with honesty bar. Room was clean, fresh and lovely decor. Ideal location for access to the beach with a lovely walk. Breakfast could have been better but it was a lovely atmosphere in the breakfast dining area.

Clean, convenient, reasonably priced. All we needed! Plus a great bar and really good breakfast. Nice views out the back. We got in somewhat late and left right after breakfast for golf, so I’m not even sure of everything the hotel offers. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED

Room tip: I had a single, which was smaller, but it was all I needed. And saved me some $. Didn’t see the larger rooms.

This was the first Hotel we stayed at for 2 nights on a 10 day trip touring Scotland. We had probably the best room in the hotel with an awesome view from the 1st floor bedroom over the Moray Firth. The Hotel has its own private path direct to the beach promenade below, and whilst you will encounter better beaches, this was perfect for a morning walk before breakfast, and for those brave enough, suitable for swimming.
This is family run, and has some nice touches like a putting green, honesty bar, and all you can eat hot scottish buffet breakfast, which is a good standard without offering too many frills, the cereals were a bit limited, but more than made up for by the hot breakfast.
The Lounge bar is a wonderful room, that we should have made more use of, and feels like something from a much more expensive Country Hotel. The honesty bar works well.
Our only criticisms are the ensuite bathroom. In this day and age its a necessity/essential to have a heated towel radiator, as otherwise you have to deal with damp towels in the morning, and the toilet and bathroom door were a bit low spec for this end of the market.
However the owners were more than accomodating with any requests we had, and we would give this a solid 7.5 out of 10.

Room tip: ask for a sea view

Thank you for your kind review. We are delighted you enjoyed your time with us at The Invernairne. Unfortunately we have been having supply issues with our breakfast cereal offering which we hope will be resolved soon. Thank you for the comments regarding the en-suite. We shall look into this in our programme of projects over the winter period when we are closed. We look forward to the opportunity of welcoming you back some day.
Kind regards

In my review of The Invernairne in 2018 I started by asking “Is it possible to have an experience that exceeds perfect?” My answer then and again now in 2022 is a resounding yes!!!

Recently retired from a career involving operational excellence and continuous improvements The Invernairne embodies so much of what is sought in these fields. Their excellent facility and amenities are surpassed only by their genuine warmth, hospitality and graciousness. A new addition to the team, Michelle, is a wonderful hostess always available to offer suggestions for venues in the area or to just have a warm, friendly chat about a range of topics.

I can think of no better place to base your adventures in this part of Scotland.

Room tip: Their large honesty bar is in reality a great place to slow down and reflect on one’s day and one’s blessings whilst overlooking the ocean.

Well what can we say? It is always a particular delight to welcome returning guests, especially ones with such fond memories of their previous visit. We are blown away by your very kind words. It has for us, as many in hospitality, been a pretty tough two years, but it is comments like yours that remind us why we do it, and all our efforts are worthwhile. We are blessed to have a great team, with a wealth of knowledge and experience, delivering the Invernairne's unique peace of magic. We are so pleased you enjoyed your time with us and can't wait to welcome you both back again soon. Hopefully it won't be another four years before we see you again!

Kind regards

Lovely, large room. Firthside Suite had a siting area, fireplace, TV, desk, jacuzzi bath and separate shower. Beautiful view of the garden and river. Wonderful antiques. Room was a comfortable temperature for sleeping. Only drawback was mattress was hard. Otherwise, excellent stay

Thank you for your kind words, we really do appreciate them. Firthside is such a beautiful room with stunning views, we are glad you enjoyed it. Apologies you found the mattress too hard for you, but hope it did not detract from your stay too much. We look forward to welcoming you back sometime. Kind regards, The Invernairne Team.
