We arrived at the property around 6pm after an 8 hour drive to be allocated a room which was very different (in a bad way) from the rooms advertised on Booking.com.

BE WARNED: There are 2 buildings as part of this accommodation and we believe the photos that have been advertised are of the main building only. The secondary building is in a tired state which is where our room was allocated (room number 12). Refer to the photos attached. Just to get into our room was a struggle as the door/lock is jammed.

We requested an alternative room and the receptionist started exploring other options/rooms however another member (possibly from housekeeping) rudely jumped into the conversation and stated nothing else was available and there was nothing more they could do.

Based on the poor condition of the room (see photos) and no alternative options, we decided we would not be staying and then had the stress of finding alternative accommodation at 6:30pm on a Saturday evening. As you can imagine, availability was scarce and prices heightened. We managed to find a Premier Inn which was more than twice the price of this hotel and over 40 minutes drive away; not ideal after such a lengthy 8 hour drive already.

We raised a complaint via Booking.com however the hotel have refused to refund any of the money even though we did not stay and they still won't acknowledge the condition of the room is very different to what is advertised. Attached are photos of the room we were allocated.

Feel free to compare against advertised photos.

Stayed in room 14 in manse building.
Room nice and large, had everything we needed(tea, coffee, shower,TV.
All staff/owners (Jamie,Neil & William) were excellent. Initial mistake with breakfast which was rectified immediately. Also had dinner which was fine-cheesecake had soggy bottom but still ate it. Service was great, very welcoming and would stay again

Stayed twin room in courtyard which was okay for two nights stay, room very clean en suite very small and could do with an upgrade, beds comfortable. Only one small window and the room was very hot the the first night but was kindly given a fan to use the second night of our stay. The food is excellent breakfast is freshly prepared and we had diner in the restaurant at night and again the food was excellent, the staff are very pleasant and nothing a problem.

Room tip: Ask for room in main building.

Bought my parents a voucher for a 2 course meal at Nelly's Kitchen. They booked for last night, both said it was beautiful meal. The hotel was lively and clean. The staff were friendly and helpful. Kildron is within 5 minute car journey for my elderly parents, so it perfect for them to have a lovely night out. My parents have said will definately be back for another meal. Perfect gift. Many thanks to your staff.
