A hotel in a beautiful village. So sorry I can't give it four stars as staff and food were great. But I have to be honest for trip advisor customers as the hotel itself is in need of a lot of TLC. Much wood is rotten on sills, worn carpets and missing tap tops etc. Such a lovely place and hotel. Please visit but owners please give this lovely hotel the TLC it deserves.

A block booking was made for our party in the bar restaurant. We were asked to limit our choice to two choices of main meal not the whole menu, which was our first disappointment and secondly in spite of arriving early a number of our party were not served with their main meal which was given to late arrivals or not delivered at all. Management tried to tell us that the number ordered was our mistake in spite of being able to produce the order form. Eventually the missing meals were cooked but this was forty minutes after everyone else was served so of course were finished. A verbal apology was eventually given but no allowance on the prices of the meals that were missed was offered as a good will gesture. Not a happy experience and we would definately not return.

Dear Madam. I have now managed to find out about your party's booking.
It was originally booked for 5.30 -6.00pm on a Saturday evening for 22 people of which 17 had advanced ordered and on turning up after 6.15pm there was 29 people arrived. You were shown the table ready and preset for you but the party choose to sit on seperate tables in our bar area instead, causing immediate confusion as to who had ordered and who in fact was in your party. The menu choice was in fact 4 starters 6 main courses and 4 desserts as organised with the person who made the reservation and gave us the pre order. In such confusion my Duty Manager and staff feel as though did the best they could on a busy Saturday trying to get another 12 orders cooked and served to your party. This clarifying that the order was in fact not complete. You say my manager eventually apologised. His response was that he wanted to get your additional orders and group fed before he had time to address this.

Went to the bar of the hotel for food. Nice atmosphere and lots of choice. Mussels as a starter were great and my hubby had the onion soup again very hearty. The main lamb shank and the venison olives were nice though could have done with some seasoning on the mash. Both were swimming in gravy would have preferred to have had a jug. Overall a nice evening though the family area could have a cosier feel to it like the bar.

Nice hotel, very clean but a bit tired and in need of some TLC. It's in a great location only a few meters from the railway station and surprisingly the rooms were fairly quiet despite this. The staff were really good - friendly, efficient, happy and always up for a laugh and a joke. Rooms were clean; ours was a bit overcrowded with furniture and there was quite a range of sizes and it seemed potluck which size you got - ours was okay. The food in the main restaurant was good, both dinner and breakfast; extensive menus for both. The bar in the hotel was a little disappointing - very limited on the beer on draft. The Bothy bar on the other hand carried all the range from the Moulin brewery, based in Pitlochry, only a short distance away - there is a tie-up between the brewery and the hotel.

We came here on Sunday night after a very long walk up Beinn Dearg, absolutely shattered! We ordered two pheasant burgers and a couple of drinks. Food arrived promptly and was more than adequate. Staff friendly and lovely cosy relaxed atmosphere in the bar. Just what was needed. It was a great day and although there were alot of outside tables available, these were all filled. Very handy location as right next door to Blair Atholl train station.
