Portion size is good, not too much food. Pleasant atmosphere and staff. Pasta with mushroom and truffle oil is excellent!

Great service welcomed us from the Italian waiters and we spoke to an old guy who travels 30miles every week to eat here. We looked forward to the food.
The good part was the food was very much home made and all fresh.
The bad was for one of the diners, the veal was smothered in far too much sauce while my Monkfish was over cooked.
A 3 course meal of prawns, mushroom and truffle pasta and then the Monkfish.
Very nice red house wine by the bottle.
The whole evening was exceptional. We were given a warm welcome, and were very impressed by the ambience and lovely atmosphere. The food was very authentic, full of flavour, cooked to perfection. The consistently professional staff went out of their way all night to attend to our every need. For the high quality of the meal, it was amazing value; as one of the best Italian dining experiences I have had outside of Italy,
I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone.
Thank you Andrea!
I was there with my husband on Sunday night for my birthday. As starter we took the carpaccio di filetto di fassone and the cannolo al basilico ,9/10 :my husband eat the veloute of cauliflower with the focaccia :). Then we took the pappardelle al ragu di cervo that I have to confess was really tasty and the rib eye steak with salad and potatos spectacular: juicy and tasty. And we took a bottle of montepulciano. They offered us the digestive :). Really good experience and we will go back again to taste more from the menu, already have an idea on what I wanna taste. Staff really friendly and smily and present for all our request. Thank you so much.
Frida, thank you!
THE AMBIENCE: As soon as you enter I Monelli you feel the hospitality and the warmth. The décor is simple and modern in a way that makes you feel cozy.
THE SERVICE: Fantabulous, Gianni is amazing. I never felt so welcomed in a restaurant. Gianni helped us to made our selectios, he gave us recommendations and we had a nice chat. Whenever I’m in Dublin I would go back to I Monelli not only for their amazing food but to chat with Gianni
THE FOOD (9/10): mouthwatering, fresh, and tasty.
Starters:
Vitello Tonnato all Piemontese (10/10): sliced veal with a delicate tuna sauce and capers €9.95 Euro It was so good that I asked Gianni for an extra basket of bread so I can lick the plate clean.
Gamberi al Balsamica e Fragole (9/10): Prawns and leeks with balsamic vinegar and strawberries €10.95
Cannolo al Basilico €8.95 (7/10): Cannoli with basil filled with artichoke puree chopped pistachio, saffron cheese and served on the veloute of cauliflower. It was a bit dry.
Main:
Fettuccine ai Porcini e Olio al Tartufo (8/10): handmade Fettucine pasta with Porcini mushrooms, truffle oil and shaved Parmesan €15.95
Gnocchi di Barbaietola con Castelmagno, Miele di Castagno (9/10) €16.95: The Gnocchi was great, innovative. It was stuffed with beetroot with Castelmagno cheese and chestnut honey sprayed from the outside. The result was a very good taste a bit sweety but pleasant.
Desert:
Ciocolatissimo (7/10): homemade mini chocolate cake with heart of hot dark chocolate and a scoop of ice cream €6.95 The chocolate cake tasted very good when I say this it means something because I’m not a fan of chocolate. It was a bit dry though I think it stayed a tad longer than it should in the oven, if it was moist and the chocolate inside was still runny I would have scored it 10 for sure.
Freddo del Bosco (9/10): Italian vanilla ice cream with hot berries €5.95
THE PORTION SIZE: just right, except with the Cannolo it was just one, I felt guilty asking to try it. It looked too small on the plate. Having 2 Cannolos on the plate would make more sense.
THE COST: Value for money
THE BOTTOM LINE: Authentic Italian food, delicious, ideal and highly recommendable. Whenever I’m in Dublin I’m going back for sure.
