Slick marketing but there's no getting away from the fact that this 'top' hotel is located in a retail park. The view to the front which they've cleverly obstructed with some stylish mesh, faces one of the busiest roads into the city (noisy) and overlooks a sludgy swamp known as Loughatalia. I think this place used to have something but looks a bit jaded now, run-down and shabby even. Still over-priced however, with staff who could do with a lesson or two in customer service or just some basic good manners. No, not impressed, nothing to see here.

Quite disappointed with this hotel. Located in industrial park, not exactly 5 star location. Can't complain about staff, very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was average but again staff were attentive. Decor is a matter of personal taste, thankfully the rooms are more sedate. Our luxury room had an "urban view" of Woodies DIY and Home store and more, complete with noise from the car park. I must say that internal noise was minimal, just the hoovering in the morning. I feel that it's a basic 4 star hotel when compared with typical 5 star hotels or even good 4 stars in better locations.

My lasting memory of this hotel was peace and quiet, they really went out of their way to ensure that you had a tranquil experience. Rooms were well sound proofed and staff went to great efforts to keep noise to a minimum. Only stayed 2 nights, didn't eat there - but enjoyed some of the lavish cocktails

Room Tip: Ask for the Lough Atalia side

We booked this hotel in January, as a birthday present for my wife, it also coincided with race week. The rooms are very comfortable, spacious and clean. Good bathroom, note majority of rooms will not have a view except rooms facing south. To be honest, it's not an issue. Staff are excellent especially the ladies who clean the rooms, every morning and during the day they all said hello. Breakfast is good, breakfast to order is excellent, the buffet is good but I expected more quality for a five star, fruit was rough and ready!!!. Dinner in the evening is excellent, the food was of an excellent standard, the waiting staff were professional, courtesy and descret. The spa is very good nice and chilled, two hours would be the max you could stay here with getting bored. Overall an excellent staff for couples .

Without doubt, one of the best hotels I have stayed in!
Friendly staff, great food served in both bar and Restraunt. Breakfast was super too.. the bedroom was luxurious, which had all the necessary audio and visual equipment needed, as well as super comfortable couches to lounge on. Comfort at its best!!!

Can't wait to go back.

Gary
