Have stayed here a few times but now having two small children I find the hotel too noisey to stay in when there is an event on so last time we got an apartment and it was fab. By far the best I've seen nothing has come close since. Loads of space separate bedrooms and bathrooms. Proper kitchen with a full size fridge (and washing machine). And they even had bread milk butter and jam in the apartment on arrival. Can't wait to go there again

Stayed: May 2016, travelled with family

Our room was kept spotlessly clean every day and the warmth and friendliness from all personnel keeps us going back every year. At this stage we feel it is our country retreat. We had a very quite room on the ground floor opposite the park with great views. The ballroom is very spacious with great air conditioning. The dinner was held in the ballroom on our final night's stay and it was served with excellent precision. It was a 5 course meal for 240 guests and there was absolutely no delay between courses. Well done to the waiters and waitresses. Our dancing then resumed at our normal time.

Room Tip: We found our room excellent as it was on the ground floor and had a balcony with great views across the park.

We stayed 2 nights. The hotel decore in the public areas is a bit shabby and it looks dreadful from the outside but our bedroom was lovely, comfortable, warm and very nicely decorated.
The staff were all friendly and helpful.
Breakfast was delicious. It wasn't included in our room deal but at €10 each it was excellent value. Literally the best soda bread I've ever had, including my Mayo granny's!!!! ( Sorry granny).
We would definitely return and would recommend the Gleneagle.

Stayed here for two nights this weekend.

Check in was fast and the staff were very friendly.

When I got to my floor I was hit with a strong smell of cigarette smoke in the corridor which was a little overpowering.

My room was beautiful and very tastefully decorated. It didn't smell of smoke however I did notice a cigarette burn hole in one of the chairs.

Dinner on the first night was tasty I had the scampi. The staff in the restaurant were lovely.

I can't fault breakfast on either morning it was absolutely beautiful - anything you would expect from a buffet breakfast, plenty of variety.

The Aquila Club was nice, the pool and the jacuzzi were lovely.

The room was very hot even with the window open all night and the beds were quite hard.

Overall it was a pleasant stay but would have given a higher rating had it not been for the cigarette burn on the chair and the lack of air conditioning but I commend the pleasant staff and the lovely breakfast.
