I was surprised to find St. Muchinin's and just loved the quaintness of this very old building. Was able to participate in daily Mass too. A wonderful treat.

I have not been here yet (going there in 2017), but from my genealogical research and correspondence with local entities in Limerick I would like to add following remark: Do not confuse "St. Munchins Catholic Church" with "St. Munchins Church of Ireland". The Catholic one is on Clancy Strand, the other on the other side of the Shannon close to King John's castle. The latter is not in service anymore and under management of the Limerick Civic Trust. Graveyard records are held by the Limerick Genealogy Society and searchable for a fee, but if you know who you are looking for you might try to contact the Civic Trust and see if they can help you out locating your relative in the cemetery.

The church was closed do we spent a half hour walking through the grave stones. The oldest we found were 1795 ... Wow! It's worth a visit!

The Church was closed but we visited the graveyard which had some very unique vaults, tombs, and headstones. It was really very interesting!
