Really cool old church near King Johns Castle and by the River Shannon. Has somewhat eerie graveyard as well.

Mass at 9:30 was a pleasure, good homily, three excellent stained glass windows and nice people. Very easy parking and near several points of interest.

I took my husband to Ireland for his 50th birthday and we actually happened across this lovely church as were walking Limerick when we got into town. My husband was drawn to it from the get go. We found out later that day when we returned that this was the church that my husbands dads family were all baptized and married in! It was uncanny how he was drawn there, we had no idea! We saw the priests grave that would have been the one to have given all these sacraments to his kin! I just love history and all that it holds of his family's heritage!

This is a delightful old church right in the heart of historic Limerick with the treaty stone outside its door and King John's castle within ear's church. The river Shannon flows gently (most of the time) outside its doors. Saint Munchin's is part of the history of old Limerick and here you will meet the thorough bred Limerick people so you will not be treated to any nonsense. It is a beautiful church understated in its decor and lay out blending beautifully in with the history of the area. It smells of history and a building we are all proud of. Come and see; come for quiet; come and worship. Yes do come.
