Where do you start with a place like Aisha?
Wifey and I were there last year, and upon our return to BEAUTIFUL Drogheda, we booked a table in this glorious restaurant.
If we thought it was awesome last year, WOW, how could they improve it, well, YES they did.
Its a "bring your own beers/wines/etc" with NO CORKAGE fee, now that is a huge saving in anyones language.
Wifey's starter was Aisha’s Spicy Chicken Wings: marinated chicken wings with spices cooked over a charcoal grill and served with, garlic mayonnaise and at €6.50 it is a STEAL.
Little old me had the HUGE portion of Black Tiger Prawns: Pan fried black tiger prawns in onion garlic butter with chilli and lemon juice in a creamy white wine sauce at €8.50
Mains for the boss was a delectable Chicken & Mushroom: Chargrilled to perfection and marinated (breast)and cooked with mushroom, garlic, herbs and black pepper in a rich white wine cream sauce cost €15.95
Me, I had the Chicken Cacciatora at €15.95 Chargrilled chicken topped with peppers, onions, mushrooms, garlic and oregano, stir fried in a spicy tomato sauce. OMG it was to die for.
The service was superb, my beers and our wine must have been put in their freezer, the arrived with the starter and were chilled perfectly.
Although it was a Tuesday, early evening (17:30hrs) there were about 5 or 6 tables in use, around 15 people in, as we left there were more people starting to arrive (GREAT SIGN)
€46.90 for one of the best meals I have EVER eaten.
This place is starting to take off after some hard hard work by the owners, I now believe they are opening into a larger room, that is NO surprise.
The chef/owner is a wonderful, kind man. He came through just to ensure his guests from Scotland were happy and leaving satisfied.
An incredible meal for UNDER €50 in this day and age is quite remarkable.
Try Aisha, you wount be disappointed.
