We had a two night stay here mid-July for my birthday and when booking online you are asked to state whether you want single beds, double beds and if you have any special requirements etc. So we filled in that we would just like a nice room with a pleasant view if possible as it was a special weekend away for my birthday. When we arrived down and were given the keys to our room we were very pleasantly surprised to walk into a Deluxe Suite instead of the standard room we'd ordered which included a huge four poster bed, lounge area, jacuzzi bath etc. We weren't charged any more for this room - it was a complimentary upgrade and really made our stay! The hotel itself is very comfortable and clean, with wifi which is supposed to be for the main communal areas but actually could be picked up in our room. There was slight congestion on check in (due to a wedding party leaving slightly late that morning I think) but the staff at reception were so helpful and gave guests complimentary tea and coffee while they did their best to speedily get everyone checked in. We had our breakfast delivered up on the first morning and while we think we got someone else's breakfast order (one had no sausage, mushrooms etc and had extra eggs and the other didn't) we were very happy with the food which was top quality warm and plenty of it! The leisure facilities are top notch with an outdoor hottub adding to the experience! The pool is big and clean as is the jacuzzi, steam room and sauna. The hotel isn't too far from Monaghan town (you could probably walk it if feeling energetic!) - it has lots of nice shops, bars and restaurants and a fantastic Indian just opposite the main taxi firm! All in all we were so impressed with our stay here - the small touches made a big difference and the complimentary upgrade made a great birthday weekend just perfect.

Room Tip: The deluxe suite if lucky enough to get an upgrade it a touch of class!!

Just back from a very pleasant overnight stay in the Four Seasons. It's a huge hotel with a lovely driveway up to it, and there's loads of free parking, which is a great bonus.Check-in was very quick. Our room, which was at the back of the hotel, was clean and comfortable and looked out on a very nice landscaped garden. They really have gone to great lengths to ensure there are colourful shrubs planted around the place and the lawns were in great condition. The room was clean and tidy and had a very big comfortable bed. Had a great sleep and not a sound was to be heard anywhere. Breakfast was standard buffet fare, but on arrival at the breakfast room there was a sign "Please wait to be seated". There was nobody there to seat us (or the many other people arriving) so it was a bit of a free for all, with some guests actually going in behind the counter to serve themselves a hot breakfast. It later transpired that the waitress who was on duty in the breakfast room had been called away for some reason. Having two people on duty in the breakfast room from first thing when breakfast starts, would have made such a difference, particularly as a large group had booked in the previous evening and it was obvious they'd need breakfast in the morning. There were eventually two staff on duty, but this was when most people were already seated. However, this was the only downside - otherwise everything was great and the staff pleasant. Check-out was as quick as check-in, so no complaints there. Would stay in the Four Seasons again, we were very pleased with it.
