What a beautiful spot, we were there in the rain and it was still beautiful. A beautiful part of the country. Will definitely be going back. Well worth the visit.

Very beautiful scenery in a lovely part of the country. The drive around the lake and surrounding areas is nice. Good place to picnic. There's a coffee shop nearby and good parking.

Glencar Lake gave us some breathtaking views. It was peaceful and serene. The lake is a freshwater lake and covers about 284 acres. The area around the lake is known as "Yeats Country" after the Irish poet. His poem, “The Stolen Child,” was about the nearby Glencar Waterfall. There is a small car park at the lake where we parked. We had a black bird perching on the fence right in front of the car. We spent some time watching him and listening to him squawk. He sure did not mind the humans watching him.
