Took a pleasant walk around Valley Gardens after a day of rain. It was nice to get out in the dry and do a lap of the Gardens. Very well kept. I can't comment on the facilities on account that they were closed. No doubt it is very busy when the sun shines.

Well manicured and nicely laid out park. Has a long Victorian pergola feature and viewing points. Plenty of benches and grassed areas. Toilets are clean and it has a small cafe which was previously a pump house. Good kids play areas as and tennis court area. Lovely but small Japanese garden. We had our lunch on the grass under the nature trees. Recommend

Our 1st visit & we all really enjoyed Valley Gardens, we parked for free on Cornwall Rd. It helped that the weather was unseasonably lovely & warm ! There were plenty of pretty Spring flower beds, blossom trees, a Japanese & New Zealand garden, play park, skate park, tennis courts, pond etc. There were loads of benches to eat our picnic on & although the park was busy it was big enough to socially distance easily. We didn't use the cafe but the toilets were ok for public toilets. We particularly enjoyed walking along the pine walk at the top end of the park, the bird song was so relaxing. The park was also well placed to walk into Harrogate town centre. All in all a lovely place to spend a relaxing couple of hours.

We are local so visit the gardens most weeks. It's well cared for, interestingly laid out in a valley on the edge of Harrogate. It's possible to walk through the gardens to Harlow Carr (about a 45 minute walk) or just stroll around many circular paths. If you are visiting HG it's well worth a visit!

My first visit to Valley Gardens when in Harrogate. The gardens are beautifully presented. There is plenty of seating areas and the long established trees are beautiful. I especially enjoyed the tree covered walkway. The terrain is reasonably flat and there was plenty of space to socially distance. Toilets are available at the top end of the gardens. The toilets were free and were very clean. There is a café within the gardens which I did not experience. Good central location and well worth a visit when in Harrogate.
