Bradford Guesthouse
Ranked #17 of 44 Swindon B&B and Inns
Reviewed 2 February 2017

If you are looking for a 'home' style long term accommodation, you have to stay at Bradford Guesthouse. You can see from all the other reviews the reasons for choosing this B&B. I travel a lot for my work and can definitely say that Sue has set the benchmark. I never once felt as if I was staying in a B&B, and nothing was ever too much if I needed any help or had a query. Thank you Sue.

I've been working away from home and have stayed at this guesthouse for the last 18 months. The price is very reasonable and the rooms are varied in size/shape and are all en-suite and in good shape.

If you want to avoid the sterile, standard hotel experience, the Bradford is a superb choice because Sue ensures that the place has a real homely feel. The location is perfect with shops, pubs and restaurants within minutes' walk, and the main town centre just 15 minutes away.

In terms of local restaurants, Biplob is great for a curry, Los Gatos is superb for Tapas, Marios or Fabios are very good Italians and the Jade garden offers good Chinese food ... all are within 5 minutes' walk. For the beer lover, the Hop Inn has a great ambience and an excellent choice of beers and the Pig on the Hill shows football etc on TV.

You can also easily get to the County Ground if you want to watch a bit of live football, as it's just a 15 minute walk, or you can take a short drive to the Link centre to watch a bit of Ice Hockey.

It's not easy being away from home but Sue and Steve make you feel part of the family which makes it that little bit more bearable.

One special point to mention ... the poached eggs are awesome.!!

I have been visiting Swindon for a couple of years for work. I recently stayed here as my usual hotel had double booked and I was very impressed with the room and service. Bradford House is a lovely hotel in the heart of Swindon’s old town which is the nicest part of Swindon with a large choice of pubs/bars and restaurants all within walking distance. The town centre, bus, coach and railway stations are about a 15 minute walk away with the M4 motorway about a five minute drive making it ideal for Swindon or the wider area. The room was very clean, modern and the bed comfortable albeit a little creaky every time I turned over in the night. There is a TV, kettle, mini-fridge and ample storage space in the room. Rooms are en-suite with modern, clean bathrooms with basin, toilet and shower with good water pressure & an abundance of hot water. The hotel is on a main road and it was quite noisy through the night with traffic (although I was at the front of the house overlooking the road)The host Sue was friendly and welcoming. There is free wi-fi which was a bit hit and miss (but possibly as my room was on the top floor in the attic). A light breakfast is included in the price with single rooms starting at around £40 per night. Breakfast was nice including cereals, eggs how you like them, toast, preserves and drinks. A full English breakfast is available for £9 a day which seemed a little steep by hotel standards however I didn't choose this option so can't comment on the relative quality and value. I would definitely recommend this hotel.

I stayed at The Bradford Guest house for over a 1 Year while working away from home , Sue, the land lady made is SO easy to stay away , I can't think of anything she could improve, she thought of everything. The guest house is located in the heart of old town, with off road parking . She was warm, friendly, flexible and very Professional. Wifi available in every room, The communal dinning area was spacious and light and could be use in the evenings. The food Hygiene standard 5 and the whole guest house was always clean , well maintained and secure . It was a lovely compromise between a hotel and a rented room . If I find myself working in Swindon again - sue will be the first person I call. .
